NAIA Football Championship Preview – Part #4

Orange City, Iowa — The fourth of a five-part preview for Monday’s NAIA Football Championship game between No.6 Northwestern vs No.3 Lindsey Wilson.

Today’s focus will be the Northwestern defense vs Lindsey Wilson offense:

The Northwestern defense is under the direction of Billy Kirch. They give up 20.8 points per game and 336 yards per game – 141 rush, and 194 passing. The defense has given up 20 points or fewer in 7 games this season. The defensive leaders are All-Conference selections Noah Van’t Hof, who has 107 tackles and 4 interceptions, and Parker Fryar who has 102 tackles and 3 sacks. Trevor Rozeboom adds 83 tackles, and Brett Moser has 68 tackles and 8 sacks.

The Lindsey Wilson Offense scores 46.4 points per game and averages 450 yards per game – 185 rushing and 265 passing. In 8 games this season the Blue Raider offense has scored 40+ points. 9 times the offense has rushed for over 100 yards, and 9 times thrown over 200 yards. The Offense is led by All-American Cameron Dukes with 2,398 yards through the air adding 33 touchdowns against just 4 interceptions. Dukes also adds 373 yards on the ground with 7 scores. In the receiving corps, Lindsey Wilson is led by Terrill Cole with 846 yards and 13 touchdowns, and Joshua Lewis who adds 558 yards receiving and 8 scores.
