No. 22 Iowa State prepares for Utah in football

Ames, Iowa – Iowa State has a lot to play for heading into Saturday night’s game at Utah. The 22nd ranked Cyclones are 8-2 and need to win and get some help to play in the Big 12 Championship game. Senior defensive end Joey Peterson.

The Cyclones snapped a two game losing skid witrh a 34-17 win over Cincinnati and Peterson says it was a needed boost on confidence for the defense.

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says the Cyclones run defense needs to get better. Opponents have averaged 209 yards on the ground in the last three games.

Campbell says there are a lot of factors that go in to boosting the run defense.
