No. 5 Iowa Hosts Michigan State Thursday Night

The fifth ranked Iowa basketball team will be in search of a rare win over Michigan State when the teams collide Thursday night in Iowa City.

The Spartans have won 14 of the last 16 in the series, including five in a row. Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says Michigan State is one of the nation’s most consistent programs.

Iowa leads the nation in assists and McCaffery says good ball movement is a must against the Spartans.

Center Luka Garza says the Spartans will test the Hawkeyes’ toughness.

Michigan State is just 2-4 in the Big Ten but Garza says the Spartans have made a habit of playing their best at the end of the season.

Senior guard Jordan Bohannon says the Spartans will provide a difficult test.
