Northwestern Softball Sweeps GPAC Honors

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played March 1-7, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-21 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Pitcher – Kameryn Etherington, Northwestern College

Kameryn Etherington of Northwestern is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week.  Etherington, a freshman from Algona, Iowa, went unbeaten over five starts in leading Northwestern to an 8-2 record last week. She had a 2.33 ERA while striking out 39 batters in 30 innings. Etherington limited opponents to a .193 batting average against and struck out a career-high 10 batters in a 7-2 win against Oklahoma Wesleyan in her final start of the week.

Player – Emily Bosch, Northwestern College (Catcher)

Northwestern’s Emily Bosch is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week.  Bosch, a senior from Ankeny, Iowa, hit .441, going 15-for-34 at the plate, while scoring nine runs and driving in seven. Bosch hit safely in seven of the 10 games and tallied five multi-hit games. She also stole four bases and drew five walks. Northwestern has won five straight games, its longest win streak since 2018.
