NWC Men’s Basketball Checks In With Top 10 Ranking

Northwestern College reclaims a spot in the top 10 in this week’s edition of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ poll released Tuesday. 


The Red Raiders are tied with GPAC-foe Morningside with the No.10 spot in the Feb.6 rating, totaling 216 points. Northwestern owns a 20-4 overall record, 10-4 in the GPAC, with four games remaining in the regular season. They are one five teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference that appear in this week’s poll; Briar Cliff (7), Dakota Wesleyan (17) and Hastings (RV).

Cornerstone (Mich.) owns the top spot for the fourth consecutive poll, totaling eight of the 12 possible first place votes. The Golden Eagles are 23-3 this season. IU East received the final first place votes and is ranked second, followed by Saint Francis (Ind.), College of Idaho and Indiana Tech.
