NWC Men’s Soccer Receiving Votes For Third Consecutive Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwestern College men’s soccer team (5-1-1, 1-0 GPAC) finds themselves receiving votes for the third consecutive week as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced this week’s coaches’ poll earlier today. The Raiders are receiving three votes in this week’s installment of the national rankings.

It’s been a busy week of honors for the program as Ezekiel Foltz (Jr., Sioux Center, Iowa/Sioux Center) picked up Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors. He was also named the program’s first-ever national player of the week by the NAIA.

Senior Juan Mackrey (Balcare, Argentina/Georgia Military College) continues to lead the Raiders in goals scored with five and points with 10 on the season. Brennan Haggerty (Sr., Freeman, S.D./Freeman Academy) leads the squad with two assists on the year.

The Raiders began conference play with a win for the first time since 2018, as head coach Dan Swier’s squad heads into the thick of GPAC play.

GPAC in the polls:
No. 22 – Morningside Mustangs (5-1, 2-0 GPAC)
RV (3) – Northwestern Red Raiders (5-1-1, 1-0 GPAC)

The Raiders are set to battle the only other GPAC team in the rankings tonight at 7:15 p.m. from the NWC Soccer Complex as they host the No. 22-ranked Mustangs of Morningside University.
