Peters Signs With Northwestern Volleyball

Orange City, Iowa — Katie Peters of LeMars has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next fall.

Peters is a 6’0” middle hitter who recently completed a standout, four-year career playing for Gehlen Catholic High School. Peters averaged a team-high three kills per set and hit .391, second best in the War Eagle Conference, in leading her team to a third place finish at the 1A state tournament with a 28-5 overall record. Peters earned first team all-state honors for the second consecutive season and was a third team all-state selection as a sophomore. She was named to the 1A all-tournament team and to the Des Moines Register All-State team as a junior and senior. Peters contributed 52 blocks, 2.7 digs and 31 aces serves last fall, earning all-conference honors for the fourth year. She accounted for over 1,000 kills during her career and was named the team’s most valuable player two years. An academic all-state selection, Peters is a member of the top honor roll and the Honor Society. She is the daughter of John and Kim.

“Katie is a very skilled volleyball player that has helped lead Gehlen to the state tournament the last four years,” commented Northwestern Head Coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “Katie has developed her all-around game, the ability to finish points offensively as well as being outstanding in the backrow, and earned all-state honors three years for former Red Raider coach Mike Meyer,. We are excited to welcome Katie to the Northwestern College volleyball family.”
