The Red Raiders travel to Marshall, Missouri Friday and Saturday to compete at the Missouri Valley Invitational. It is one of the biggest collegiate wrestling tournaments in the nation at 50 teams competing.
Seven of those teams are ranked in the top 10. The 2019 edition of the Missouri Valley Invite saw four weight class champions eventually win individual national championships.
The first matches on Friday start at 2pm while Saturday’s matches will start at 9am. The event will take place at the Burns Athletic Complex on the Missouri Valley College campus.
NWC comes into the prestigious event off a dual win last week over Hastings College and a strong showing at the Hastings College Open (Cusitas Open). Luke Jenness looks to continue his strong freshman season as he is 17-5 on the year while Andrew Null is 11-1 and is the 3rd ranked wrestler at the 165 pound weight class in the NAIA.
