Red Raider Men’s Golf Team Receives Votes In Initial Poll

Kansas City, Missouri — The Northwestern College men’s golf team is recognized in the first NAIA Coaches’ poll of the 2020-21 season.

The Raiders, under the direction of head coach Aaron Aberson, are receiving votes (6), one of 18 teams that fall just outside of the top 25. They are one of three teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) recognized in the Feb. 26 poll, joining Morningside (7) and Midland (RV).

Northwestern recorded a second place and two third place finishes in four meets last fall and have a team scoring average of 300. They are currently in third place after the 36 holes in the four-round, 72-hole GPAC Championship, which will conclude this spring.

Point (Ga.) is the NAIA’s top ranked team and totaled 14 first place votes. Keiser (Fla.) is second, followed by Wayland Baptist (Texas), Coastal Georgia and USC Beaufort (S.C.).

Northwestern will open the spring season at the Battle at Primm, a two-day event played at Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, Nevada.
