Schuiteman To Run For Dordt

Darby Schuiteman, a senior at Unity Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.

“I am excited to have Darby join our program. She is a talented and driven athlete that enjoys her running. I believe she has the capacity to run at a high level collegiately, and her experiences under Coach Mark Kauk at Unity Christian will provide a solid base as she works towards her goals. I look forward to her time at Dordt and the opportunity to work with her the next four years,” said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.

Schuiteman has a personal best of 19:05 on a 5,000 meter cross country course. She’s been part of four conference champions while with the Unity cross country program and qualified for the state meet four times, helping Unity to a best finish of eighth at the state meet.

“I love the Christian atmosphere I’ve experienced in my college class at Dordt. Also, I want to stay close to home and close to my home church. Furthermore, the pre-veterinary program at Dordt is outstanding,” said Schuiteman.

Darby is the daughter of Jay and Alissa Schuiteman of Orange City. She plans to study Animal Science at Dordt.
