Sioux Cener Iowa — Sioux Center put together a 4-run sixth inning to propel them to a 10-6 win over Sheldon in baseball action at Open Space Park Wednesday night.
Sheldon opened the socring in the first inning as TK Lang reached on a base on balls. Courtesy runner Cason Johannes scored from third on a single to center by Cole McDonald and the Orabs had the early lead 1-0.
The Warriors countered with a run in the home half of the first as Brett Schouten led off with a single to center and scored on an rbi single to center by Taylor DeJager to tie it up at 1-1.
Sheldon went up 2-1 with a run in the second as Brendan Cain drew a walk and later scored on the back end of a double steal.
Sioux Center went up 3-2 with a pair of runs in the third as Schouten and Stetson Hulstien both reached on errors. Schouten would score on an error and Hulstien came in on a single to left by Christian Vietor.
Sheldon scored three in the top of the fourth to take 5-3 lead as Tye Sudbeck Brendan Cain and Trey Idema all singled. Idema drove in a run with a single to left and Brennan Chester and TK Lang both followed with rbi singles.
A 3-run fifth by the Warriors put them up 6-5 as Austin Faber, Aiden DeJager and Zack Rozeboom all singled. Rozeboom drove in a run with DeJager scoring on a wild pitch and Rozeboom coming in on a flair to right field by Hulstien.
Sheldon tied it at 6-6 with a run in the 6th inning as Idema drew a walk and scored from third on a sac fly to right field by Alexis Rodriquez.
Sioux Center answered with a 4-run sixth to get the win. Taylor DeJager singled. Ethan Zomermaand was hit by a pitch and both scored on a triple to center by Aiden DeJager who also scored on the play as the relay to the infield was off line to make it 9-6 in favor of the Warriors. Zack Rozeboom reached on an error and scored on a single to left by Schouten to make the final 10-6.
Lane Kamerman went the final inning and two thirds for the win. Max Hamill took the loss in relief of starter Brennan Chester with 1 out and 2 on in the bottom of the 6th.
With the win Sioux Center is 3-6 for the year and 3-3 in the conference. Sheldon falls to 1-8 on the year and 0-6 in the Siouxland.
Sheldon is at West Lyon Thursday night while Sioux Center will be at Boyden Hull Rock Valley.
