Northwest Iowa — The Iowa State Wrestling Tournament opens Wednesday morning with the Dual Team competition at Wells Fargo Arena. The individual competition is set to get underway on Thursday.
# 6 Central Lyon George Little Rock opens team competition at 9am Wednesday morning with a quarterfinal match up against #3 Mediapolis. The Lions are making their third appearance at the team tournament and come in at 19-0. Their last trip to state resulted in a third place finish. Mediapolis at 25-4 is makng their third straight appearance and fifth overall.
Individaul competition for area wrestlers gets underway on Thursday with the first round for 2A wrestlers beginning at 1:30 in the afternoon and the first round for 1A wrestlers beginning at 6:00pm.
A pair of Orabs will compete at State with (34-10) Dustin Freeman at 152 and unbeaten Darin Greenfield who takes a 45-0 record into the tournament at at 195.
