The Nighthawks Season Ends Against Harlan

Boyden Hull Rock Valley fell to the Harlan Cyclones 44-7 Thursday night at the UNI dome.

The game started well for the Nighthawks after forcing a Harlan 3 and out. The Nighthawks offense methodically drove down the field in 14 plays traversing 72 yards and scoring on a Kody Noble 6 yard run.  Boyden Hull Rock Valley’s fortunes would turn for the worse, as Harlan answered with two first quarter touchdowns.  The first was on a Kasperbauer to Aiden Hall 65 yard touchdown pass. Kaleb Kats than threw an interception returned for a touchdown by Brenden Bartley for 25 yards giving the Cyclones a 14-7 lead after one quarter.

Harlan would add a 20 yard field goal towards the end of the first half to make the score 17-7 at halftime.

Kats would throw his second interception for a touchdown to Aiden Hall of the Cyclones on the first possession of the second half. The score would go 24-7 in favor of the Cyclones and they wouldn’t look back.

Harlan would add 3 more scores starting with a Kasperbauer to Joey Moser score from 39 yards. Then added another score on a 7 yard run by fullback William Kenkel. And the last score coming late in the 4th quarter on a Mason Griffith 29 yard run.  The final score was 44-7.

Harlan advances to the Championship round and stays undefeated. The Nighthawks finish the season 8-3 overall.
