Cedar Falls, Iowa (RI) – UNI football coach Todd Stepsis is not ready to name a starting quarterback coming out of spring pratice.
Four quarterbacks were competing to become the starter, including Matthew Schecklman, who appeared in nine games in 2024 as well as Aidan Dunne, who played in eight games. The Panthers closed out spring drills with a scrimmage on Saturday.
Stepsis feels the Panthers can win with any of the four.
While Stepsis plans to eventually settle on a starter he says a lot of successful FCS programs have used more than one quarterback.
Stepsis used multiple quarterbacks at times while he was at Drake and says there needs to be buy in from all involved.
The Panthers open next season at home on August 30th against Butler.
