Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for Sept. 6-12, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Men – Jacob Vander Plaats, Dordt University
Jacob Vander Plaats of Dordt University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Vander Plaats, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, led 13th-ranked Dordt to the team title at the Red Raider Preview, a meet held last weekend at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa. Vander Plaats on the 8K race with a time of 26:20 and was one of six Defender runners to finish among the top seven. This marked the second straight race that Vander Plaats was the top NAIA runner. Dordt won the meet with 16 points.
