Vis Commits To Dordt Volleyball

Madison Vis, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.

“Madison had a really strong senior season where she stepped into a new libero role and finished with all-conference and all-region honors. Her accelerated growth over the past one and a half years has been amazing to observe. We are grateful for the work that coach Tammi Veerbeek has invested in all areas of Madison’s life. We are excited to help Madison continue that growth in those same areas as she seeks to live out The Defender Way and join our campus community in August,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.

Vis is a 5-9 defensive specialist and she ended her career at Western with 716 digs and 85 ace serves. She had 429 digs in 2020 while helping Western Christian to a semifinal berth in the Class 2A State Tournament. She led the state in made serves with 479 and was a first-team all-conference and all-district selection while also earning all-academic honors at both the conference and state level.

“I chose Dordt because I believe it’s a place where I can grow in my relationship with Christ while receiving a great education. The atmosphere and community of Dordt feels like home to me and I’m excited to build relationships with fellow students, teammates and coaches,” said Vis

Madison is the daughter of Brad and Pam Vis of Rock Valley, Iowa. She plans to study Nursing at Dordt.
