Western Christian Looks To Make The State Volleyball Tournament Again

Hull, Iowa — The Western Christian Wolfpack look to make the state volleyball tournament again but will have to face Treynor in Sioux City to get their.

Western Christian received a first round bye in regional play, and rolled to a 3-0 win over Rock Valley, 25-9, 25-11, 25-16. Jaylin Van Dyken led the team in assists with 22, while the kills came from every direction even spread between 5 different players, and a serving efficiency of 93%.

The semifinal against Hinton went 3 sets as well, 25-10, 25-18, 25-11. The Wolfpack got 34 assists from Van Dyken, double digit kills from Abby VerBurg and Stella Winterfeld, and again had a 93% serving efficiency.

To get to the state tournament, Western will have to take on the 12th ranked Treynor Cardinals. Treynor is 28-7 on the year. The Cardinals received a first round bye as well, and defeated AHSTW 3-0, and Missouri Valley 3-1. Treynors 7 losses have all come in regular season tournament play.

First serve is at 6 pm at the Heelan gym in Sioux City.
