Western Christian Returns To State Volleyball Tournament

Western Christian qualified for their 38th  State Volley Ball Tournament with a 3-1 win in the 2A Region 2 championship match decided at Bishop Heelan Wednesday night. The 3rd ranked Wolfpack downed #12 Traynor on set scores of  25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17.

Western Head Coach Tammi VeerBeek saw the match this way.

The turning point in wrapping up the match came in set four with the Wolfpack trailing the Cardinals by four. After a Western time out a scoring run tied it at 15 and the Wolfpack were able to close it out.

VeerBeek described the mind set going into the State Tournament.

The Wolfpack blueprint for success at state looks like this.

Tournament play in Class 2A begins with the quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon with matches at 2:00 and 4:00 pm. The Wolfpack will have one of the 4:00 pm quarterfinals.
