Following a West Lyon takeaway by Gramstad, the Wildcats capitalized with the short field when Meyer scored his third touchdown of the game from 3 yards out to make it 21-7 with 9 minutes left in the first half. West Lyon added to their lead when a bad Van Meter snap went out of the back of the endzone to push the score to 23-7 with 7:30 to go in the half. Gramstad added to West Lyon’s lead as time expired in the first half when he threw a 36-yard Hail Mary to Jackson Meyer. At the half, West Lyon had a 29-7 lead.

Gavin Lorenzen got in on the scoring in the second half with a 15 yard catch and run to extend the Wildcats lead to 36-7 with 6:33 to go in the third quarter. The Wildcat Defense got back on the board as Chase Ter Wee took a pick-six 25 yards for the score to make it 43-7 late in the third.

Van Meter would get back on the board in the fourth, when Parker Fryar caught a 28 yard pass to make it 43-14. West Lyon would respond with a Davian Sterner 1 yard score to push the score to 50-14, and that would be your final.

With the win West Lyon ends their year at 12-1, and the 1A Championship. Van Meter’s season comes to an end at 12-1.
