Wolfpack Sweep ELC Tuesday Night

Hull, Iowa — The Western Christian Wolfpack were able to sweep Estherville Lincoln Central Tuesday night in Hull. The girls avenged their loss earlier in the season to ELC getting the 54-32 win, and a big second half gave the Western boys the 67-35 victory.

The Western Christian girls were in control the entire game, leading at all the breaks. After one the Wolfpack had a 15-9 lead and at the intermission had a 30-14 lead. After three it was 43-25, and Western went on to win 54-32.

Western got a game high 18 points from Abby Postma, and the Midgets got a team high 14 from Jayden Nitchals.

With the win Western improves to 10-4 on the year, and 5-1 in the conference. ELC falls to 9-4 on the season and 3-2 in the lakes.

In the boys game a barrage of three pointers from Dawson Feenstra gave Western the room it needed to put away the Midgets.

Western had a 13-11 lead after the first eight minutes, and went on a 12-0 run to start the second quarter, but only had a 27-18 lead at the half. Feenstra proceeded to hit 4 three pointers in a row for the Wolfpack and after three Western’s lead was 46-26, and Western cruised in the fourth to a 67-35 win.

Western got a game high 18 from Feenstra. The Midgets were lead by Jacob Jensen with 6 points.

With the win, Western improves to 10-2 on the year and 6-0 in the Lakes. ELC falls to 5-7 on the season and 0-5 in the conference.

Up next for Western Christian is a home contest on Friday against Spencer.
