USDA provides additional pandemic assistance to hog producers 

IARN — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a new program to assist hog producers who faced reduced market prices due to the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday. The Spot Market Hog Pandemic Program is part of USDA’s Pandemic Assistance for Producers initiative and addresses gaps in previous assistance for hog producers. The program assists hog producers who sold hogs through a negotiated sale from April 16, 2020, through September 1, 2020. Read more


Kentucky will need help, but damage is still being assessed

Unless you have been living under a rock, you have seen the storm damage that happened from Arkansas all the way to Ohio on Friday night. The brunt of the damage is being seen in the town of Mayfield, Kentucky.
