Inwood, Iowa — A South Dakota man’s vehicle was damaged after it rolled near Inwood on Monday, January 25th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’ Office reports that at about 5:38 pm on Monday, 43-year-old Paul Berg of Brandon, South Dakota was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger two miles south of the West Lyon School on Chestnut Avenue. According to the report, Berg lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions, entered the east ditch and rolled over onto the driver’s side.
Hartley, Iowa — A Hartley man faces potential charges in O’Brien County after being arrested by a Clay County Deputy Sheriff recently.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a Clay County Deputy made contact with 30-year old Jeremy Dean Bobzien of Hartley because he had prior knowledge that there were active arrest warrants for Bobzien. Deputies say the warrants, for Interference With Official Acts and Trespassing, were confirmed and Bobzien placed under arrest. According to authorities, upon searching Bobzien, deputies recovered a hypodermic syringe and a cellophane wrapper containing eight white pills, which were reportedly identified as Hydrocodone.
Bobzien was transported to the Clay County Jail in Spencer. Deputies say that, since the initial contact with Bobzien was made on the Clay-O’Brien County Line, slightly inside O’Brien County, the syringe and pills wee turned over to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, where charges are pending.
Hospers, Iowa — Two vehicles were damaged at an intersection at a Hospers intersection in Hospers on Saturday, January 23rd.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 2:06 pm on Saturday, 81-year-old Keith Bilsland of Sheldon was driving a 2008 Buick LaCrosse eastbound on 400th Street in Hospers. Fifty-eight-year-old Gary Christoffel of Granville was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Hospers Drive South. According to the report, Bilsland stopped for the stop sign at Hospers Drive South, drove into the intersection, and struck Christoffel.
The Buick received $2000 damage. The Chevrolet received $1500 damage.
Orange City, Iowa – Two Orange City residents face felony narcotics charges after their arrest by deputies of the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Sioux County authorities say 51-year old Robyn Collins and 31-year old Scott Smith are each charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, a Class D Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.
Authorities say the arrests stem from a search warrant that was executed at a residence in northwest Orange City.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Orange City Police Department.
Orange City, Iowa — A Spencer woman’s vehicle was damaged in an accident on Saturday, January 23rd near Orange City.
The Orange City Police Department reports that at about 11:14 am on Saturday, 20-year-old Mackenzie Schindler of Spencer was driving a 2003 GMC Pickup southbound on Highway 60. According to the report, Schindler lost control on a bridge due to icy surface conditions and struck the bridge.
Hull, Iowa – A Hull woman was injured in an accident on Friday, January 22nd near Hull.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 6:18 am on Friday, 25-year-old Janet De Leon of Hull was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull. According to the report, De Leon lost control of her vehicle, entered the west ditch and rolled.
The Chevrolet received $3000 damage.
De Leon reported minor injuries and refused further medical attention.
