Ocheyedan Man Pleads Guilty To Violation

Osceola County Courthouse Closeup_SVASibley, IA — 50-year-old Kenneth Elder of Ocheyedan plead guilty to Violation of No Contact/Protective Order.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, The Court orders Elder to pay no fine, a criminal penalty surcharge of 35%, and the court costs of this case. Elder is sentenced to 10 days in the county jail with all time suspended as informal probation to the Magistrate Court for a period of 2 years.


Sibley Man Pleads Guilty To Animal Neglect

Osceola_County_Courthouse_(Iowa)Sibley, IA — On June 22nd, 67-year-old David Bryngelson of Sibley, IA, plead guilty to 2 counts of Animal Neglect.

According to the Osceola Sheriff’s Office, Bryngelson is sentenced to pay a fine of $250 for each count plus the costs and surcharge for this case. The Court ordered that the judgment of conviction for 2 counts of Animal Neglect, both simple misdemeanors, be deferred for 1 year.

Bryngelson is to pay all court costs and restitution for any and all veterinarian bills that may be claimed in all 6 counts of this matter.


Man Distracted By Cow Damages Vehicle

cowsLarchwood, IA — A Lester man’s vehicle was damaged in an accident near Larchwood on Sunday, June 21st.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that 64-year-old Calvin Kellenberger of Lester was driving a 2005 Volkswagen Southbound on Birch Avenue, near Larchwood. According to the report, Kellenberger was distracted by a cow loose in a yard and drove into the west ditch, striking an entrance driveway.

The Volkswagen received $3000 damage.

No injuries were reported


South Dakota Man Rolls Vehicle

sioux county sheriff emblemRock Valley, IA — A South Dakota man’s vehicle was damaged after it rolled on Monday, June 22nd near Rock Valley.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:46 am on Monday, 32-year-old Matthew Feucht of Fairview, South Dakota was driving a 2000 Ford Range eastbound on 360th Street, five miles southwest of Rock Valley. According to the report, Feucht lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch and rolled.

The Ranger received $2000 damage.

No injuries were reported


Orange City Man Hits Deer

deer_sxc2Boyden, IA — An Orange City man’s vehicle was damaged in an accident on Sunday, June 21st near Boyden.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:04 pm on Sunday, 56-year-old Curt Ahrenholz was driving a 2012 Buick Enclave eastbound on Highway 18, three miles east of Boyden. According to the report, Ahrenholz struck a deer in the roadway.

No injuries were reported.

The Buick received $3500 damage.


Worthington Police Make Arrest In Assault Death Case

Worthington, Minnesota — The Worthington Police Department made an arrest Friday as part of an on-going death investigation.

According to information released by Worthington Police Chief Troy Appel, police officers were called to 1031 Oslo Street at approximately 6 PM Friday in response to a report of an adult male who had been assaulted. The victim was transported to Sanford Medical Center in Worthington, where he died.

An arrest was made later in Worthington. More information will be made available as the investigation continues, according to Appel.
