Henry “Hank” Steensma

Henry “Hank” Steensma, age 88 of Sanborn, IA passed away at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone United Reformed Church in Sanborn. Rev. Todd DeRooy will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Sanborn Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24th with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Agnes O. Jackley

Agnes O. Jackley, 98 of Duarte, CA, formerly of Watertown, SD and Ashton, IA, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Santa Teresita Manor in Duarte, CA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ashton, IA. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ashton.

The Jurrens Funeral Home of Ashton, Iowa is handling services.

Helen Schroder

Helen Schroder, age 92, of Sibley, IA died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA with Rev. Gary Van Heukelom, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, IA.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

Robert “Bob” Doherty

Robert “Bob” Doherty, age 53 of Larchwood died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage in Sioux Falls, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, with Father Jeff Schleisman as celebrant. Burial will follow at Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood, IA.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood.  There will be a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. that evening.  The Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood is handling arrangements.

Barbara Schmidt, age 82 of Sanborn, IA passed away at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA on Friday, July 13, 2012.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20th at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Melvin. Rev. Judy Johnson will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the Sanborn Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Burial will be at Baker Township Cemetery in Melvin.

Sue Caauwe, age 69 of rural Sanborn, Iowa died on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Prairie View Manor in Sanborn, IA.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Worthington Christian Church with Pastor Ron Ahlgren officiating. Burial will be at the Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Worthington Christian Church.
