Three Vehicle Accident in Orange City

orange city alton police oc pd ocpdOrange City, Iowa — Three vehicles were damaged in an accident in Orange City on Friday, November 20th.

The Orange City Police Department reports that at about 15-year-old Kevin Slice of Hull was driving a 2005 Honda Accord was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Michigan Avenue Southwest and Highway 10 South in Orange City. Sixteen-year-old Anton Funk of Sheldon was driving a 2001 Buick sedan southbound on Michigan Avenue southwest behind Slice. 58-year-old Allan Reinders of Sioux Center just turned off Highway 10 to go northbound on Michigan Avenue Southwest while driving a 2001 Ford pickup. According to the report, Slice was stopped at the stop sign while Funk came up behind him. Funk was unable to stop due to driving to fast for the road conditions. Funk realized that he was not going to get stopped in time, so he swerved to the left to try and avoid rear ending Slice’s vehicle. Funk did strike the rear of Slice, then hit the front of Reinders’ vehicle.

The Honda received $2000 damage; the Buick received $3000 damage. The Ford received $2500 damage.

No injuries were reported
