The City of Sheldon, Iowa is now accepting applications and resumes for the position of Water Operator.

This position will provide assistance in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant and the water distribution system. Routinely service and inspect equipment. Perform meter reading and general custodial duties. Ability to perform laboratory testing, sample collection and record keeping.

Position would require certification for Water Treatment and Distribution or ability to obtain, high school diploma or equivalent, ability to work in adverse weather conditions, residency within ten miles of the Sheldon Community Services Center and must pass a post offer, pre-employment physical and drug screening.

AMPI in Sanborn is hiring for Truck Mechanic and General Labor.

The Truck Mechanic under general supervision conducts preventative maintenance, repairs, and performs fleet and safety inspections on motorized vehicles, small engines, and heavy equipment. Applicants must have a High School Diploma, or GED, and a preference is given to Diesel Mechanic Associates Degree. A minimum of 2 years job related experience and 1 year experience operating a tractor-trailer hauling liquid is a must. The successful candidate must possess a valid Class A Commercial Drivers’ Licensure with tanker endorsement, and meet the medical standards of the Iowa Department of Transportation, and have an acceptable motor vehicle record. The primary role of General Labor is to safely follow all production and quality standards while assembling 700-pound cheese blocks. The job monitors different positions throughout the cheese packaging floor. The position includes, but is not limited to, making block forms, filling blocks with cheese, pushing blocks, and seating blocks in the cooler. Applicants are preferred to have a High School Diploma or GED. Food manufacturing, material handling, and forklift operation experience is preferred.  Maintaining a valid forklift operator license is a must. Prior experience in the dairy or cheese industry is preferred, and prior experience in manufacturing is also a plus. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
