Everly 19-Year-Old Taken To Hospital After Hospers Crash

Hospers, Iowa — An Everly 19-year-old was taken to the hospital after an accident near Hospers on Monday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:35 p.m., 19-year-old Kirsten Glackin of Everly was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on Log Avenue, two miles south of Hospers. They say 15-year-old Emily Haack of Granville was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on 420th Street.

The report says that as the two vehicles approached the intersection, Glackin swerved to avoid striking Haack and lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch and rolled.

The Hospers Ambulance took Glackin to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. Her injuries were described as “minor.”

The Glackin Chevrolet sustained approximately $4,000 in damage. The Haack Chevrolet was not damaged.

Haack was cited on a charge of failure to obey a stop sign.

The sheriff’s office says the Hospers Ambulance Squad and Hospers Fire Department assisted them at the scene.
