Five Taken To Hospital After Accident

Hull, Iowa — Five people were taken to a hospital, three of them by ambulance, after an accident on Saturday night near Hull.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:00 p.m., 16-year-old Zachary Rus of Sioux Center was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on Third Street in Hull, when he entered a northbound curve onto Ibex Avenue and lost control of the vehicle, which entered the east ditch and rolled.

Rus and a passenger in the vehicle, 15-year-old Josie Horstman of Hull were both transported by private vehicle to the Sioux Center Hospital. The Hull Ambulance took three other passengers in the vehicle, 15-year-old Trai Prachomphonh, 16-year-old Axcel Lira, and 15-year-old Mackenzie Barsley, all of Hull, to the Sioux Center Hospital.

The Ford sustained about $5,000 in damage. The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Ambulance and Hull Fire Department assisted with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
