Hartley Man Faces Felony Drug Charge

Hartley, Iowa — A Hartley man was recently arrested on a felony drug charge.

According to court documents, a Hartley police officer arrested 35-year-old Cory Mohni on Second Street Southeast in Hartley. The officer says that Mohni was seen riding his bike on city streets. The officer knew that Mohni had an active warrant through O’Brien County. The officer says that when Mohni was arrested, he allegedly admitted to having drugs on him. The officer says he found a small baggie of white crystal-like substance on Mohni, which Mohni allegedly said was methamphetamine. Also found, according to the court document were a marijuana pipe and a small wax paper with a bit of marijuana wax.

Court records say Mohni was charged with possession of a controlled substance — third or subsequent offense, a class D felony.

According to O’Brien County Jail records, Mohni was taken to jail in Primghar but was released the same day. Court records indicate his first court appearance is scheduled for July 3rd.
