Hospers Man Injured After Rolling Cement Truck

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Hospers man was injured after rolling his cement truck late Thursday morning.

Sioux County authorities say they received a report of a truck accident that occurred on Goldfinch Avenue, six miles northwest of Sioux Center shortly after 11:30 Thursday morning.

According to authorities when they arrived they learned that 23-year-old Jeremy Stoner of Hospers was backing a 2002 Kenworth cement truck from Goldfinch Avenue onto a driveway, when the vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled onto its side, pinning Stoner inside. Deputies say Stoner was removed from the truck with mechanical extrication by Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Rescue.

Stoner was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to the Sioux Center Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Kenworth sustained approximately $30,000 in damage.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, Sioux Center Rescue and Sioux Center Ambulance.
