Man Taken To Hospital, Tractor Destroyed In Fire

Little Rock, Iowa– A farm tractor was destroyed and one man was taken to a hospital as the result of a fire on Monday, April 9, 2018, near Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Assistant Fire Chief Tom Ver Steeg, about 8:20 a.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a tractor fire on the yard at 19782 320th Street, about five miles north and about a mile east of Little Rock, in Minnesota.

The assistant chief says the fire department saw an older Farmall tractor fully-engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.

Ver Steeg says the owner of the tractor was taken to a hospital via ambulance for minor burns and other minor injuries.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Assistant Chief Ver Steeg reports that there was probably between eight and ten-thousand dollars in damage.

He says they used about a thousand gallons of water to fight the fire, and the ten firefighters who responded were on scene for about an hour.
