OC Man Hospitalized Following Rollover Crash

Sioux Sheriff 84-8 FacebookBoyden, Iowa — An Orange City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday night (August 19th) southeast of Boyden.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened about 8:15 Friday evening, when a 1998 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by 32-year old Daniel Barrera, of Orange City, was eastbound on 350th Street, 3 miles southeast of Boyden.  Authorities say Barrera lost control of his SUV, entered the south ditch and rolled the vehicle.

Barrera was reportedly transported by Boyden Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Barrera’s Trailblazer sustained approximately $3-thousand damage.

Deputies say alcohol is believed to have been involved in the accident, which remains under investigation.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Boyden Fire Department, and Boyden Ambulance.
