Sibley Man Arrested, Charged With Felony Theft

Sibley, Iowa — A Sibley man who, according to court records, admitted to stealing from his employer, has been arrested.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies arrested 36-year-old Henry Wayne Wilkerson of Sibley this week on a charge of Theft 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

According to court records, Wilkerson admitted that he took over $1400-worth of goods and cash from the Sibley Dollar General Store between July 31st and September 6th, while he was employed there. The officer’s statement on the court document says that Wilkerson stated that he took the goods and cash, “for means of food, gas money, and child support payments.” It goes on to say that Wilkerson “wrote an apology note in reference to his actions.”

The Sheriff’s Office says Wilkerson was booked into the Osceola County Jail and was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
