Two Injured In Single-Vehicle Rollover

Alton, Iowa — Two people from Lincoln, Nebraska were taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash near Alton, on Highway 60 early Monday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened shortly before 2:00 Monday afternoon, when a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, towing a boat and trailer, driven by 34-year old Travis Anderson, of Lincoln, was southbound on Highway 60. Deputies say the trailer detached from the pickup, causing the trailer to sway and Anderson to lose control of the truck.

The pickup and trailer entered the west ditch, where the trailer became completely detached from the truck, and where the truck rolled onto its top, according to authorities.

Anderson and a passenger, 29-year old Cara Anderson, of Lincoln, were both transported by the Alton Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to deputies.

Deputies say the pickup sustained approximately $15,000 in damage. The trailer and boat were not damaged.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Alton Ambulance and Alton Fire Department.
