Rock Rapids, Iowa — A man is behind bars in Rock Rapids after being charged with burglary and theft.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Monday (August 22, 2016) around 7:55 PM their emergency center received two separate reports that a subject had stolen some property from the back storage area of Sunshine Foods in Rock Rapids.
Deputies located a suspect a short time later in Rock Rapids carrying the stolen property. They report that 56-year-old Basil Humphrey was arrested on charges of Theft in the 5th Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor; and Burglary in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.
Humphrey was transported to the Lyon County Jail, where he remained, at last report.
