Benefit For Scott Stallmann is Tonight

Sheldon, Iowa — A fundraiser will be held Monday (October 7th) for a 24-year-old Sheldon man who is battling a rare form of cancer.

The benefit for Scott Stallmann will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 tonight at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon. Scott’s mother, Dianna Stallmann says her son was preparing to go to the Peace Corps when the disease was discovered.

She says Scott’s cancer originated in his salivary gland.

Mrs. Stallmann says Scott’s treatment began with chemo and radiation at Mayo.

She says her son is suffering from a very rare form of cancer.

The Stallmanns made the flight to Houston for a one-day visit this past week, and are scheduled to fly down for a 2-day visit this coming week. After that, they’ll be flying to Houston for two-day visits once every three weeks. And, as you can imagine, the travel expenses are stacking up.

The benefit for Scott Stallmann will consist of a pork loin sandwich with baked beans, coleslaw and dessert, and a freewill offering will be accepted. The meal will be served from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

Stallmann says her family is extremely grateful for everything that has been done for them, as well as for the help of everyone who attends Monday night’s fundraiser.
