6 Charged In Fight That Sends 4 To Hospital

orange city alton police oc pd ocpdOrange City, Iowa — Four people were taken to the hospital, and six people face charges, following a fight in Orange City Wednesday evening (January 18th).

According to Orange City Police, they received several 911 calls around 8:30 Wednesday evening, reporting a fight outside a residence on Delaware Avenue Southwest.  Authorities say that when officers arrived on the scene they observed several people outside the house needing medical attention from a fight that occurred outside the residence.  Orange City Police summoned the Orange City Ambulance, which transported 50-year old Cornelio Vega, of Orange City, to the Orange City Area Health system where he was treated for head injuries.  Three Juveniles were transported to the Orange City Area Health System by their guardians, where they received treatment for minor injuries, according to authorities.

Officers say they discovered 68-year old Jesusita M. Villapando, and 47-year old David Rodriguez, both of Orange City were also involved in the fight.  Police say Jesusita Villapando was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct while David Rodriguez was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication 3rd offense.  In addition,  Cornelio Vega was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication 3rd offense, according to police.  The three Juveniles involved were reportedly charged with disorderly conduct and released to their parents.

As of early Thursday afternoon, both Rodriguez and Vega remain in the Sioux County Jail.  Jail officials say Villapando was released from custody around midday Thursday.
