Hospers Woman Hits Bank and Parked Car

sheldon police pdSheldon, Iowa — A Hospers woman struck the Northwestern Bank wall and a parked car in Sheldon on Monday afternoon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that just before 4:00 pm on Monday, 79-year-old Lois Roetman of Hospers was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound, turning from 3rd Avenue on to 10th Street in Sheldon. According to the report, Roetman stated that her foot slipped off the brake and pressed the gas pedal. Roetman then drove onto the curb, struck the Northwestern Bank wall, continued west on the sidewalk, attempted to pull back onto the street and struck a parked 2013 Ford Fusion.

The Jeep received $1,200 damage; the Ford received $3,200 damage.

No injuries were reported.
