Man Arrested On Warrant While Visiting Jailed Friend

Lyon Sheriff Facebook HeaderRock Rapids, Iowa — A George man who came to the Lyon County Jail to visit a friend, ended up in custody himself.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday of this week (August 4th) 54-year old Clark Nagel, of George, went to the Sheriff’s Office to visit an inmate in the Lyon County Jail.  Deputies say that, during a routine security check done prior to entering the jail facility, they discovered a warrant for Nagel’s arrest.

According to authorities, the warrant was for Failure To Appear, and the bond amount listed on the warrant was $500 cash or surety.

In addition, deputies say that further investigation revealed that Nagel’s Driver’s License was suspended, and that the vehicle he drove to the jail had expired license plates.  They say he was charged accordingly.
