Primghar, Iowa — A car was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 near Primghar.
According to Primghar Fire Chief Gary Lansink, at 6:29 a.m., the Primghar Fire Department was called to the report of a car on fire at a hog confinement at 4247 Silver Avenue (Highway 59), three and a half miles south of Primghar.
The chief says the fire department saw the front of the car, including the engine compartment and left wheel, engulfed in flame as they approached the scene. He says they put out the fire with water.
Lansink says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Chief Lansink reports that the older two-door Pontiac Grand Prix was totaled in the fire.
He says they used less than 100 gallons of water to fight the fire, and crews were on scene for about 20 minutes.
