Osceola County, Iowa — If your nonprofit group or organization is working on a project and could use some funds, there’s an opportunity through the Community Foundation of Osceola County.
Osceola County Economic Development Director Stephanie Neppl is one of the people who help the foundation, and she says the Foundation recently received a notice that over $94,700 will be available to facilitate endowment building and grant-making throughout the county for the grant cycle.
Grant applications are being accepted through Friday, November 8th, 2019 at 4pm. She tells us that all 501(c)(3) organizations, 107b units of government, and other potentially qualifying charitable organizations operating in or for the benefit of Osceola County should contact The Community Foundation of Osceola County for applications, guidelines and additional information. All information, including the application form, can also be accessed online at https://www.osceolacountyia.com/living-here/community-foundation-of-osceola-county
According to Neppl, application limits are set at $5,000 per application per applicant. Funding decisions will be made public in February 2020.
She says seven copies of your grant application must be mailed or hand-delivered to 300 Seventh Street, Sibley, Iowa by 4 p.m. on Friday, November 8th, 2019. E-mailed or hand-written applications will not be accepted.
Neppl tells us that the Community Foundation of Osceola County exists to help concerned individuals mobilize charitable giving to support the betterment of Osceola County communities and organizations. Iowa counties’ community foundations are given money if they do not have a casino or betting track in the county. The law stipulates that such counties are eligible to receive one-half of one percent of the state’s gross gambling receipts. The community foundations also accept donations and estate endowments.
