Feenstra Working On Solution To Rural Housing Shortage

Feenstra 2017aDes Moines, Iowa — District Two State Senator Randy Feenstra from Hull says that there is a shortage of housing in rural Iowa.

He says by “rural” we’re talking about non-urban housing, not necessarily housing out in the country, but including housing in small towns, such as we have in northwest Iowa.

He tells us what they’ve been working on.

Feenstra says the bill stipulates that the contractors would have to build between two and eight homes to use the tax credit. He says that a similar bill for urban areas in the state passed a while back and is being heavily used.

Feenstra serves Sioux, O’Brien, and Cherokee counties, and extreme eastern Plymouth County.
