golden shovelOrange City, Iowa — You may remember that earlier this week, we told you that the Orange City Fire Station contract had been approved.

A groundbreaking event for the new station will take place this Friday morning, August 19th. We had a chance to talk with Orange City Fire Chief Denny Vander Wel. He says he’s looking forward to it.

He says the people of Orange City have been great.

He says the chamber coffee will get underway at 9:30 with the groundbreaking to follow. Local dignitaries including Vander Wel and Orange City Mayor Deb De Haan and others will speak at the ceremony. Refreshments will be served.
