Thunderstorms will increase in coverage through the day today. A few of these storms may be strong to severe with large hail being the primary threat. By this evening and overnight, the threat will transition to a heavy rain threat with the potential for localized flash flooding. Hot and humid conditions will persist for another day across southeast parts of the region. Although temperatures and heat indices will ease a bit from the past couple of days, several hours with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s will continue to cause heat stress in vulnerable people and pets.
