Judge Schedules Verdict Date In Le Mars Murder Case

Le Mars, Iowa — The date for a verdict to be announced has been set in the case of a northwest Iowa man who pled not guilty after he was accused of allegedly stabbing his sister to death in 2016.

According to authorities, Thomas Bibler of Le Mars, who was 33 years old at the time of the stabbing, was taken into custody afterward on the same evening — Saturday, June 11, 2016. Bibler is accused of fatally stabbing his 27-year-old sister, Shannon Bogh. Witnesses to the stabbing identified Bibler as the suspect.

Bibler entered a plea of not guilty to the charges of First Degree Murder, Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, and Going Armed With Intent over two years ago. First Degree Murder is a class A Felony. If convicted, Bibler would face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

District Court Judge Jeffery Neary has announced that he will pronounce a verdict in the case on Friday, January 18th.
