Northwest Iowa — June is Dairy Month in the United States.
We talked with Ryan Breuer, who is the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach dairy specialist for northwest Iowa.
He says dairy farmers have a message that people need to hear.
Breuer says northwest Iowa is a great place for dairy operations.
Some of the bigger ones include Wells and Dean Foods in Le Mars, and Agropur Cheese in Hull. Breuer encourages dairy farmers to check out the resources that are available through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
He says there’s a June Dairy Month celebration and open house coming up later this month.
He says they’ll feed you, you can learn something, and there are activities for the young ones as well.
