King Has Harsh Words For Those Planning To Boycott The Inauguration

Northwest Iowa — Earlier we heard from Iowa 4th District Congressman Steve King on the topic of an Agriculture Secretary appointment.  Now King has harsh words for a group of his congressional colleagues who are planning to boycott Friday’s inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump.

King tells us he has long had questions about the Congressional Black Caucus, the group leading the inauguration protest.

King says he is disappointed with fellow Congressman John Lewis, a Democrat from Georgia, and others in the Congressional Black Caucus who are leading the effort to boycott the inauguration.

King says Lewis marched with the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. for civil rights, and says the civil rights leader advocated for togetherness, not segregation.

Congressman Lewis said last week he would boycott the inauguration because he doesn’t see Trump as a “legitimate” president in light of alleged Russian interference in the election.
