Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon band director is being honored by here peers in northwest Iowa, with an Outstanding Band Director Award.
Sheldon Middle School band director Jeana Larson learned last week that she had been chosen to receive the J. Wicker Award as Outstanding Middle School Band Director for the northwest Iowa area. Larson talks about the award.
Larson says she was surprised and humbled by her selection.
She says she’ll be receiving the award later this year.
Larson credits her students as a large factor in her winning the award.
She learned she had been selected to receive the award last week at the Northwest Iowa Bandmasters fall meeting in Cherokee.
