Miller Stepping Down As SCAT EMT/Paramedic Coordinator

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Community Ambulance Team Director and EMT/Paramedic Coordinator Kevin Miller is leaving his full-time position with SCAT.

Miller tells KIWA that he has accepted a full-time position as EMS Coordinator at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. He says he’ll assume the NCC position beginning Monday, June 18th.

Miller was the SCAT team’s first, and only, full-time employee, and was hired as EMT/Paramedic Coordinator in July, 2016. Prior to that time, he had been a SCAT volunteer since August, 2015. Miller became Director of the ambulance team May 1st this year, replacing former Director Tracy Gorter.

Miller tells KIWA that he will remain as SCAT Director, and will become a volunteer with the ambulance team. He says his new position will allow him, as he termed it, “the best of both worlds”, helping EMS grow in this region through his job at NCC, and still serve the citizens of Sheldon through his volunteer position with SCAT.
