New Sheldon Superintendent Excited About Opportunity

Sheldon, Iowa — In a noon-hour meeting Thursday the Sheldon School Board hired a new Superintendent to lead the school district following the departure next summer of retiring superintendent Robin Spears.

Cory Myer calls his new job at Sheldon a “great opportunity” for himself and his family.

Myer says Sheldon is very well-located for his family’s needs, since he has a son, daughter-in-law, and grandson who live at Okoboji, and a daughter who will be attending Morningside College in Sioux City next fall.

We asked Mr. Myer what the Sheldon School District will look like under his leadership.

When Myer’s family moves to Sheldon, the enrollment at the middle school will increase by one student.

In addition to his daughter’s excitement about moving to Sheldon, he says his wife is very excited, as well.

The Myer family will be moving to Sheldon in time for Cory to begin his duties as superintendent July 1st.

Myer made his comments in an exclusive interview with KIWA.
